Boro

We said there would be no theme. Then the first issue named itself.

Boro is a Japanese textile tradition: workwear and bedding repaired so many times that the repairs become the fabric. Patch over patch, stitch over stitch. Nothing matches, nothing was planned, but it holds.

We did not choose it as a subject. We recognised it as a description of the issue itself: unrelated pieces brought together until they begin to belong. Photography, writing, clothing, chairs, objects, ideas.

That is boro. That is also this magazine.

Issue No. 1, Boro, arrives in September 2026. The first frames appear on 1 August.
