Contributor Terms

These terms explain what you confirm when you submit work to NoThemeYet, what you allow us to do with it, and what stays yours. They are written to be fair to contributors and to keep the magazine independent. If anything is unclear, email hello@nothemeyetmag.com before you submit.

When you write to submissions@nothemeyetmag.com, these terms are also sent to you by email, and we ask you to reply once you have read them. The version you accept by email is the one that applies.

What contributors confirm

By submitting material and agreeing to move forward with publication, you confirm that:

• you are the creator, owner, authorised representative, or lawful rights holder of the submitted material; or you have obtained the permissions, licences, releases, and consents needed for online publication by NoThemeYet;
• the submitted material does not knowingly infringe copyright, trademark, moral rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, confidentiality, contractual rights, or other rights;
• where material includes third-party works, visible artworks, brands, logos, designs, people, private locations, archival material, quotations, screenshots, scans, or documents, you are responsible for having the right to include or share that material;
• factual claims, quotations, names, credits, and captions you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge.

The permission you grant

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, by approving work for publication, you grant NoThemeYet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to:

• publish the work in an online digital issue;
• display it on NoThemeYet’s website and official online channels;
• include it in online archives of the relevant issue;
• use reasonable excerpts, thumbnails, contributor names and credits, titles, and images to promote the issue;
• format, resize, compress, and technically adapt the work for web display, make minor spelling or formatting edits, and crop where necessary for layout while respecting the integrity of the work;
• keep the published issue available online unless removal is agreed or legally required.

What you keep

• You keep copyright in your contribution unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• NoThemeYet does not require exclusivity unless separately agreed.
• Copyright in the editorial compilation, layout, design, sequencing, captions, art direction, issue structure, and visual identity belongs to NoThemeYet, as set out in the Legal Notice.

No payment

NoThemeYet is a non-commercial magazine: free to read, with no advertising, no paywall, and currently no revenue. Nobody on the team is paid, including the editors and staff. No payment, fee, royalty, or other compensation is made or owed for the submission, consideration, or publication of work, and we do not charge contributors or readers a fee. We state this before you submit so you can decide with full information. Publication is non-exclusive and you keep copyright, as set out above.

Credits, pen names, and anonymity

You may be credited under your legal name, professional name, studio name, pen name, alias, or initials, or you may be credited anonymously or with no visible credit, subject to editorial agreement. We respect chosen credits and moral rights where applicable.

What you should not submit

Please do not submit private or confidential material that you are not allowed to publish, or material that you do not have the right to share.

Corrections, credit changes, and withdrawal

For corrections, credit changes, or rights concerns about your own work, contact hello@nothemeyetmag.com. We will deal with reasonable requests in good faith. Each issue is published as a closed, finished editorial work, so withdrawal is not automatic: we will remove work where removal is agreed or legally required, for example for a genuine rights issue, but not simply on request. Because issues are published and archived online, some changes or withdrawals may take time or may be subject to what is technically and editorially possible, and to any separate agreement we have made with you.
