Privacy Policy
These pages are provided for transparency and rights information. They are not legal advice, and the wording may be updated from time to time.
This policy explains what personal information NoThemeYet may collect through this website, why we use it, who we may share it with, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible and to be clear about it.
1. Who we are
NoThemeYet Magazine is an independent online-only digital publication and the operator of this website. For the purposes of this policy, NoThemeYet Magazine is the party responsible for personal information handled through the site.
2. How to contact us
For any privacy question or request, contact hello@nothemeyetmag.com. This is also the contact for permissions, corrections, and rights concerns.
3. What information we may collect
We keep this deliberately small. Through the sign-up forms on this website, the only personal information we collect is your email address. We do not ask for your name, or anything else, to sign up.
We only hold other details if you choose to give them to us, for example, if you email us, or, in future, submit work for consideration. That may include your name or chosen name, a social media handle, a website or portfolio link, text or files you send, biography or credit information, and the content of your correspondence, along with any records of permissions and consents.
When you visit, we also collect limited technical data such as IP address, browser and device information, and server logs, together with privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics. The site does not set tracking cookies.
4. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you email us, sign up for the newsletter, complete a form, or submit work. We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site, through server logs and privacy-friendly analytics.
5. Why we use it
- to respond to your messages;
- to review submissions;
- to edit and publish contributor material we have agreed to publish;
- to manage contributor relationships;
- to send the newsletter, if you have signed up;
- to maintain the security of the site;
- to understand and improve the website;
- to keep records of permissions and rights;
- to handle copyright, takedown, and privacy requests;
- to comply with legal obligations.
6. Legal bases for using your information
Where data protection law (such as the GDPR or UK GDPR) applies, we rely on one or more of the following reasons, depending on the situation: your consent (for example, the newsletter); our legitimate interests in running an independent publication and keeping the site secure; taking steps at your request and managing a contributor relationship; and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis.
7. Submissions and contributor information
If you submit work or correspond with us about a contribution, we keep the material and the related information so we can review it, discuss it, and, if agreed, publish and archive it. Contributor terms, including the permissions you grant and the rights you keep, are set out separately on the Contributor Terms page.
8. Newsletter and contact forms
The newsletter and notify forms on this site ask only for your email address. We use it to send you the updates you signed up for and to respond to you. Form submissions are currently handled through a third-party form provider (Formspree) on our behalf. You can ask to be removed from the newsletter at any time by contacting us.
9. Analytics, cookies, and technical data
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand general site usage, such as which pages are visited. This is designed not to track you across other websites and not to build a profile of you. We do not currently use advertising or marketing tracking. For more detail, see the Cookie Notice.
10. Third-party platforms and links
The site links to external platforms, including our Instagram. If you visit or interact with those platforms, their own privacy policies apply. We do not control third-party platforms and are not responsible for their practices.
11. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the website, email, forms, analytics, hosting, newsletter, storage, security, or publication workflow, where necessary. We may also share information where required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or the integrity of the site.
12. International access and service providers
NoThemeYet is read internationally, and some of our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information remains protected, in line with applicable law.
13. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, including managing submissions, maintaining publication records, resolving disputes, preserving permissions, complying with legal obligations, and maintaining archives. Different categories of information may be kept for different periods.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a relevant data protection authority. To make a request, contact hello@nothemeyetmag.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
15. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep information safe and to limit what we collect.
16. Children
This website is not directed at children. Users under the age that applies where they live should not submit personal information without the appropriate permission of a parent or guardian.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site, our tools, or the law change. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
18. Contact
For any privacy matter, including access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent, contact hello@nothemeyetmag.com.
For questions, permissions, privacy requests, corrections, or rights concerns, contact hello@nothemeyetmag.com.
